It was 2011 when Peter Sondergaard, a senior director at Gartner, predicted a change in data management strategies known as big data. He said it would create an unprecedented amount of varied and complex information.


He was right.


Today, businesses store vast amounts of data, much of it across multiple, disparate databases that are unable to talk to each other.
