Count your blessings

Updated: Jul 13, 2022

It is now three years since I left my 'proper' job to add other and varied interests into my life. I loved what I did, I just reached a point where I didn't want to do it everyday, change things around a bit.

I have been fortunate to remain connected to my former employer as a commercial/technical consultant over the last three years and even though ownership has changed I am lucky to have been retained again into 2022. Interesting times ahead.

The business interest I added to my life is my consultancy practice focusing on supporting business with Microsoft Office 365, as a Microsoft Partner through and beyond implementation, making sure the included business applications are exploited to the maximum, especially the Power Platform, by building applications and data analysis dashboards in Power Bi. A favourite area of mine.

Last week I contacted customers I have worked with and those I am working with to ask for testimonials I could use on the web and so on. I'm not very good at blowing my own trumpet, I get embarrassed and would rather it was almost an unsaid understanding between us.

For the second time in this post I want to count my blessings, I have been overwhelmed by the kind and generous feedback received, I want to thank each of you for taking the time to respond and in a manner I was not expecting. I won't be so gauche as to repeat here or name drop, you know who you are and what you said. Thank you, you have been very kind.

Finally, health.

I have had my challenges this year, I'm on the other side and now on a five year plan of monitoring. I want to thank those who have supported me through this, regardless of your level of involvement, I will be eternally grateful.

This time of year does make many reflect and I am no different. I have much to be thankful for, especially as I know many are challenged in ways more than I can imagine.

So, like me, if you can, count your blessings.

To sign off I wish you, yours and those you know, a Happy Christmas, fine New Year and a fulfilling 2022.

Steve
